Oh yea...

It looks like I forgot to mention, I flew to Rhode Island and foud out that RISD isn't all it's cracked up to be. The architecture dept looked amazing...and the film dept sucked. The equipment, facilities and general direction of the department lacked overall quality. We toured the campus, interviewed all kinds of students and attended the senior film/animation/video show. It sucked so bad, i left the show early. These students paid thousands of dollars to learn a craft and it looks like they learned all the industry's technique but forgot the essentials such as plot, story line, character development, etc. Yes, there are thousands of cool ways to film something....should you use every technique? no. it's ugly. My community college education taught me loads more than those students had learned in 4 years. no wonder post grad unemployment is so high. Not to mention most of the staff were RISD alumni. Since u won't be able to find a job in your major, you an work in their student store. ouch. ok moving on...

This made me wonder how seth macfarlane did it...oh yea, he learned the techniques, was funny and pursued the industry himself. Thoroughly it was a disappointing trip.

So now onto the future...Principles of Animation class always starts with a pair of balls:
